I've had this really random but strong urge to read The Catcher In The Rye by J. D. Salinger for the past month and a half. I don't own this one, so I'll have to get it from the library, even though I've been trying to read my own books for a change.
I also let the randomize sort function on Goodreads choose a book for me. It ended up choosing The Secrets We Keep by Tricia Leaver. This will be my version of the TBR jar that a lot of people do, since I don't have a jar and I'm too lazy to write out and put in almost 100 titles. I've had this book for a solid two years now and never once had the urge to read it. Kiwi 2 years ago was a bit of an idiot with the book buying.
I'm hesitant to try Flame In The Mist by Renee Ahdieh since I HATED The Wrath and the Dawn by her. Her writing style is just way too over the top for my personal tastes. However, I didn't know that when I preordered this book last year like a numb skull. I've had it for a year and haven't been brave enough to try it. This is the month that I'm going to give it a chance. If I don't like it, I'll just unhaul it and forget about it.
Lastly, Wicked Like A Wildfire by Lana Popovic was one of my most anticipated 2017 reads... yet I still haven't read it and 2018 is more than halfway over. I heard a few not so stellar reviews and I got scared. Hopefully I will like it though.
So that's about it for this TBR. In a good month, I read 8 - 20 books on average, so who knows what all I'll end up reading in July. Last July I reread Harry Potter for the third time and I'm resisting the urge to reread it again this year to focus on my unread books instead.
Come back next month to find out my thoughts on these books and any others I will read in July.
