So, I don't really have a favorite genre, but the genre that I read the most of is probably contemporary fiction. Here are my most underrated faves:
1. Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell
2. Zoe Letting Go by Nora Price
This may not be the best book ever written, but it was dang good! It deals with a teen trying to recover from anorexia and there is a seriously good twist at the end that reminds me of The Sixth Sense. Plus, the book is littered throughout with all kinds of well-researched information on anorexia. You'll learn and you'll be entertained at the same time. What more do you people want? |
3. The Originals by Cat Patrick
This is another one that I feel like I mention all the time on my blog. I'm just blown away that Cat Patrick isn't a super popular author. This book was very good and better than a lot of extremely popular YA books that I've read. Maybe it's the weak ass covers that are scaring people away from the awesomeness within. |
4. Life Is But A Dream by Brian James
Here's a book that I bought at a yard sale on a whim for less than 20 cents. Here's a book that I've seen literally no one ever mention. And yet, here's a book that is extremely well done, beautifully written and so painfully underrated. It actually hurts my soul a little that more people haven't read this book. There's only 820 ratings on Goodreads! Come on, people. You're seriously missing out! |
5. Unfamiliar Magic by R. C. Alexander
Only 180 ratings on Goodreads. ONLY 180 RATINGS on ONE OF MY FAVORITE books of 2016. Are you freaking kidding me? How is that even possible? This book is a diamond among lumps of dusty old coal. It was so cute and fun and reminiscent of a 1990's Disney Channel Original Movie. It's like someone bottled the essence of Halloweentown and rubbed it all over this thing. READ IT! |
