I read 5 books.
If You Find Me by Emily MurdochI'd been feeling pretty stagnant these last few months with my reading. I felt like I was reading the same sort of things over and over again. So I decided to try something new. I let my mom pick out a book for me to read and I let my brother pick one too. This was my mom's pick and it was SOOOO GOOOD! I ended up giving it a 4.5/5 stars. |
Unbreakable by Kami GarciaRemember earlier I said I let my brother and mother pick a book for me to read? Well, this was my brother's choice. This book was really cool, while at the same time being kinda stupid, if you know what I mean. It's something I probably would have been obsessed with if I was 12 - 14, back in my Twilight days. This book got a 2.5/5 stars from me. |
Random dude: "You think you're better than me because you believe in God?"
Jerry: "I know I am! Anybody who believes in God is better than anyone who doesn't!"
Yeah, that's totally what Jesus preached. I think that religion is a super private thing, not to be shoved down people's throats. Also, I don't believe that believing in one thing makes someone any better than somebody else who believes in another. But then again, this was the 1800s. Things were different back then.
Hexwood by Diana Wynne JonesHoly shit was this book weird! 3/5 stars because it started out sooo good. I really loved the beginning with Ann and Mordion and Hume. Then after about 25% of the book, when it started getting to the parts with Reigners One to Five, my eyes started glazing over, and that's |

I may have only ended up rating the books an average of 3/5 stars this week, but I do feel like this was still an awesome week for me. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and tried a few different things. It was a lot of fun having my mom and brother pick a book off of my TBR shelf for me to read this week. I will definitely be doing that again next month, since there are so many books that I want to read, sometimes I neglect others or I feel like I'm never in the mood to read it. Having someone else choose for you and then actually reading the book they choose is a really interesting thing to do and I think you should definitely try it. You never know when they might just pick your next favorite. Or, at the very least, if the book they pick sucks, you can totally blame them. Just kidding!
Have a great week,
Kiwi
